I am going to start filming again, im going to film the work i have been making, so lights and flowers, i think this could be a really good start for my module, putting the two things i enjoy doign most together, should make me happier right?
anyway we shall see…
plan for tommorow CLEAN OUT COMPUTER! and empty video camera!
Right so, I need to figure out what the hell I am doing.
Where will i be in a years time? what will my practise be in my final year at uni, and where will i go from there? And quite honestly i have no idea at all.
so what am i interested in? what are my concepts?
- people, people are the centre of my work, i want my work to speak to people, for their interaction to be a conversation with the work, meaning that the work is only complete with interest from others.
-reactions, reactions of people was something i looked at last year, i drew this from my fascination with not knowing what others are thinking.
-humour, I would like to be more light hearted in every aspect of life, i think i can be uptight and worry uneccesarily, this is something i would love to be projected into my work, just being a little more silly and a lot less serious.
-film/books, i love being able to read my way out of reality and watch my way out of consciousness, i would hope that my work could achieve this too.
The RedBall Project : Artist Statement
Through the RedBall Project I utilize my opportunity as an artist to be a catalyst for new encounters within the everyday. Through the magnetic, playful, and charismatic nature of the RedBall the work is able to access the imagination embedded in all of us. On the surface, the experience seems to be about the ball itself as an object, but the true power of the project is what it can create for those who experience it. It opens a doorway to imagine what if? As RedBall travels around the world people approach me on the street with excited suggestions about where to put it in their city. In that moment the person is not a spectator but a participant in the act of imagination. I have witnessed it across continents, diverse age spans, cultures, and languages, always issuing an invitation. That invitation to engage, to collectively imagine, is the true essence of the RedBall Project. The larger arc of the project is how each city responds to that invitation and, over time, what the developing story reveals about our individual and cultural imagination.
I'm Arielle, I'm 19 and I'm studying fine art at Nottingham Trent uni, I like to work with film and installation art.
I have decided I want to make art that puts something buoyant into the general public. My hope Is that my work Is lighthearted, funny, cheerful and a little bit absurd.
So here It Is, my never ending list of things that Inspire, motivate and effect me personally. This Is where I initiate the art I aspire to create.
